What is an Apple Home?

An Apple Home is the "container" for everything in your smart home setup — it holds the Rooms your accessories live in, the Accessories themselves (lights, locks, thermostats, and so on), the People who can control them, and any Automations you've set up to make them react on their own.

Each property gets its own Home, given a name of your choosing — often the name of the house itself (like "Ellwyn") or the street it's on. Everything else — rooms, accessories, people, automations — sits inside that one Home.
